About Brian Pauw

Brian Pauw's photo

After finishing his master’s in Chemical Engineering in the Netherlands, he moved to Denmark for his Ph.D. and now lives in Japan as an independent researcher at NIMS.

With the attention span of a gnat, he has shown interest in -and learned about- many different things, and moved ever further away from his original degree. He is fascinated with scattering theory, things with buttons (gadgets), and doing things right, and now spends a day a week in the NIMS workshop trying to build his own X-Ray instrument from scratch (and parts salvaged from the local scrapyard).

He is an avid analog photographer, digital cinematographer, cyberspace blogger and real-space skeptic. He likes his family, (wind-)surfing, beautiful beaches, open science, wall-climbing, cycling, presenting, sailing, cars, etc… you name it, he likes it. Except soccer. he doesn’t like that.

His twitter handle is @drheaddamage
